Biography

I have been interested in Ham radio since around 1959 having purchased the ARRL Handbook(which I still have) for $3.50c this was my bible for a few years in work and play

Used to walk around the village re-broadcasting radio to a 19set dream at that time was the 1155

As at this time money was short I joined the RNR who kindley supplied a CR100 receiver for use at home

I came back to the hobby in around 1980 at which time a purchased a FT102 line up (still in the office and a proper wireless !!)

Anyway after many years QRT I am now QRV with:

FT818 LG Z11 ATU QRP

AnyTone 878 DMR Open Spot 2

I also am using WSPR beacon with a bit of wire out of the window and am impressed with results (at the moment 200mw on 14Mhz)

The DMR epitomises the Ham Radio etiquette of self-training !!

Look forward to a few QSO with you !!!

More to come !!!
