Biography

I have always had an interest in radio and became friends with a person who at the time was a SWL, he lent me a spare ssb radio and i became facinated in the hobby. I bacame a SWL and joined the RSGB as BRS42704 in 1979.

I studied for the Radio Amateurs Exam and got my class B licence G6FDW in September 1981. I went on to study for (as it was called at that time) The Post Office Morse Test and received my class A licence G4SFY in February 1983.

Over the years i've had several breaks from the hobby, only recently returning to the air in July 2025 after nearly 5 years.
I operate on all bands from 160m - 70cms, (excluding 4m),
my main interest being Dxing on 2m and 70 cms especially MS and EME.
