Biography

First licensed Feb 1981 as G6AIY, received Call sign G4NKW December the same year.
At home I operate on all HF bands from 160 to 10 metres also on 2 metres and 70cm also sometimes in the summer on 6 metres when the band opens.

Equipment

Base station is FT-DX10 with FT991A,currently exploring C4FM and DRM with a TYT handheld.
I also own a Yaesu FT2D handy which is another recent purchase and I find this very useful.
When mobile I have a Yaesu FT857D available which is also used /P sometimes.
Shack antennas are quite modest and consist of a G5RV for 40/80, a Cobwebb for the higher HF bands, a 3 band vertical for 2, 70 and 6 metres and a homebrew helical vertical for 160 metres, I have a typical small UK garden.
On holidays abroad I have used my FT817ND portable rig with great success.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
