Biography

Hallo! Thanks for reading this info.
I'm an ex Merchant Navy R/O - from the distant days when Britain actually had a Merchant Navy!
I gained my amateur licence (Class A) in Sep '80 and I'm active on all HF bands - time and conditions permitting - CW Only.
I chase the occasional DX with varying degrees of enthusiasm but I much prefer a good old "rag chew".

Equipment

My station is comprised of the Drake "7" Line. I have the TR7/PS7 (2) transceiver and PSU, WH7 Wattmter, MN2700 ATU, RV7 Remote VFO, MS7 Speaker and the L7 Linear Amp. Also on my bench I have a Trio TS830S - which is probably of a similar age to the Drake TR7 (Oct '80)
My aerial set up is currently (May '20) very simple. I have a multiband Inverted Vee Doublet (30m + 30m with the apex at 17m),a multiband EFHW wire in an Inverted L configuration at a height of about 12m and an EFHW wire in the horizontal plane for 60m - at a height of about 8m. However I change aerials pretty often.

Thank you for reading these details and I look forward to working you on the bands.
