Biography

First licenced in 1969 as G8BJI one year later passed the CW test and in 1970 was licensed as G3YHO.Have always been interested in home made gear. My largest home brew project was a 22" colour TV built in the late 1970s. This project took a year to build and about 3 months to get working.
In 1986 I started using QRP CW and have been using this mode ever since. My station today is very simple consisting of an Elecraft K1 a Ten Tec kit 1380 and 1340 and the little four band HB1B from China. I also have a very old Ten Tec Century 22 CW only rig but this is seldom used. My only antenna is a 30m LW. A very simple station but it gives me lots of fun. I am 79 years old but still very active, another hobby is cycling and I try to maintain this all year round, I also like walking and gardening.
