Biography

I was first licensed as G3XSV in September 1967 and operate mostly on the HF bands. DX and Contesting are my main interests and I enjoy CW, SSB and occasioanally Data. From 2019 I have held the Short Contest Call G8A

IOTA Contests:

I have operated every in the IOTA Contest every year from 1995 to 2019.

Individually as GD3XSV/P in 1995, as GM3XSV/P in 2016 from the Island of Lewis, as C4I and in 2017 from Cyprus.

As part of the Bristol Contest Group for over 20 years I have been on expeditions to:

The Isle of Man - GD6YB in 1996 and GT6YB in 1997 and 1998
Isle of Wight - GX6YB
Curacao - PJ2Y 2001 & 2002,
Bere Island - EJ2MT (along with the East Cork Group) 2003 - 2005
Island of Jersey - GJ6YB for 8 very successful years between 2007 and 2015
Malta - 9H6YB 2018 and 2019


Travelling:

Having retired in 2009, I now like to travel with my partner Eleanor to visit as many countries as we can, and enjoy meeting up with local hams.
