Biography

My name is Tony. I have held a license since 1963 when studying for my seagoing radio officers certificate here in Bridlington East Yorkshire. Since then activity has varied. In the early days being active on top band with CW and AM using the cheapest set of the time a 'Codar AT5' about 10watts an ex army 19 set which seem to have harmonics all over. I then became interested SSTV in the 70's building a receiver using an ex ww2 radar tube 'P7'. Then building a fast scan camera and transmitter. HF mobile then took over for a while with the Yaesu ft101 and a G whip. Computers took over my hobby for quite a while until recently when I purchased in Icom ic7000 and went back out mobile and put up a Carolina Windom 80m short beam for home base so now trying the digi modes now available using modern computers. So that's it nearly 50 years of ham radio
Also have an interest in Daimler cars hence the web site www.daimler.co.uk

Equipment

Icom IC7000, SB2000 interface, PC laptop, Macmini, Macbook pro. Carolina Windom antenna, Colinear for 70cm and 2m
