Biography

Prior to the year 2000, G1RAF was the callsign of the RAF Halton Radio & Electronics Club (5 miles East of Aylesbury, UK). The club closed in 1999.

Since that time G1RAF has been held by members of the Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society (RAFARS).

The RAF Halton Radio & Electronics Club reformed on 1 March 2014 under the name of the RAF Halton Radio Society (RAFHRS).

RAFHRS is affiliated to RAFARS and to the RSGB.

From 2 April 2014, G1RAF is allocated to the RAFHRS courtesy of The Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society and is held by AAD Mockford, G8ZGK.
