Biography

Hello, I’m Pete, G1PET, based in South Benfleet, Essex, England.

I have been involved in amateur radio for many years and previously held the callsign G7LGW. My main interests include portable HF operating, POTA activations, SSB and FT8, both from home and while travelling.

My current portable station is built around the Yaesu FTX-1, normally used with a JPC-12 vertical and counterpoise system. I enjoy experimenting with antennas and low-power operation across the HF bands, as well as VHF and UHF.

Lesley, M8CJR, is also based here in South Benfleet and has recently returned to amateur radio after a long break.

73,
