Biography

First licensed in the early 90's

I now operate mostly from a Mobile location onboard my Narrowboat on the Inland waterways of England, signing /M although nearly always moored up by the canal bank.

UK licence states Mobile

17(1)(x) “Mobile” means the Radio Equipment is located in the United Kingdom:
I. in or on any vehicle or conveyance;
II. on the person of the Licensee where the Licensee is a pedestrian; or
III. on any Vessel on Inland Waters;

Ofcom the UK’s communications regulator guidance to licence states

2.17 Although ‘ Maritime Mobile ’ operation is reserved for holders of a Full Licence, the holder of a Foundation or Intermediate licence may operate on UK inland or internal waters, including, for example, marinas. This would be ‘Mobile’ operation.
