Biography

HI ALL, My name is Preston (G0UQY), and the XYL's name is Rose (M3UQY) We live in a village called Upper Beeding West Sussex England.I was born in Ashbourne Derbyshire I moved down to Sussex in 1984. Before I lived in a small village called Heathcote, went to my first school in Hartington and then when I was over 11 years old I went to Ashbourne county secondary school after leaving school I went to Broomfield agricultural collage and obtained my N.C.A.. I spent many years in agriculture as a Herdsman milking cows until I decided to have a a change in career as truck driver. Retired now my main hobby is radio I have been a Radio Amateur since 1992. My old B callsign was G7MGT. I like football and for my sins I support Derby County..

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Had an update to my antennas gone has the Six Band MQ-26 2 element "Hybrid Quad" beam by T.G.M. Communications and has been replaced by a Cobweb antenna 7 band antenna Bands they are 14,18,21,24,28,50,70 MHz. works very well. Now that the conditions are improving I also have a Yagi 10 meter Beam Antenna it’s actually a SIRIO SY-3 Directional 3-Element 26-30 Mhz Yagi Beam Antenna tuned for 10 meters also works well and as a backup a Solarcon Antron 99. Nice to have a vertical that tunes to 17 meters
My shack has basically stayed the same for a few years. Still got my Yaesu FT-847 and Yaesu FT-100D and are used most days with just a few additions like a SPE Expert 1K-FA with an auto-ATU, and a little play thing the Xiegu G106 is a new 5 watt QRP transceiver also a little RETEVIS RT95 Mobile 25W VHF UHF dual band transceiver
