Biography

Hi.
I am located on the South East coast of Kent, near the seaside town of Margate.
I have spent a large chunk of my working life as an electronics and communications engineer. Later in life a change of direction and I am currently a helpdesk supervisor for a large college group. I still get my hands dirty by working on-site as part of the team responsible for the network and hardware plus AV equipment at the various campuses. I have a keen interest in photography and ran a commercial photography business at one time, stressful but enormously satisfying.
Returning to the airwaves after a very long break, it’s been 20 years! A few health issues made me reassess what I should be doing with my spare time. And so here I am. A little rusty so cut me some slack if I happen to chat to you.
Currently running an Icom 7300mk2 into an EFLW, I hope to get an outdoors shack built this summer which will allow me to expand.
I have joined the WAB community - my book number 25200. My home QTH affords me easy access to three squares by walking a couple of hundred metres, so I am hoping to get some fun out of this when the weather improves.
I am also hoping to join the POTA community we have a couple of nearby sites which have not been activated, so hopefully could be fun.
