Biography

Hi and thank you for visiting my QRZ page.Class A amateur radio since 1990.

Equipment: Yaesu FT 1000MP HF transceiver, Yaesu FT 747 HF as my mobile. Antennas: All low cost home builds! 15 m indoor Dipole. A half wave 40/20M trap dipole, a wide band vertical 80 - 10M works all on bands without tuner. And a 20M magnetic loop. This antenna sits on ground level and my radio room is 5 meters above the loop!!

Mag loop capacitor is tuned by an RC servo motor. Capacitor is a 280mm RG58 coax (19Pf) and a home made variable capacitor of 2-6Pf. Servo is driven by a cheap servo tester (£4 ebay) Loop is made from 28mm copper tube and small loop is a 4 core shielded cable. All cores and shield are soldered as single cable and direct fed from SO239. I have had 5x9 reports while on QRP (1.8 ~ 2.0 watts) from Italy and Bulgaria. Antenna sits at 500mm above ground.

Equipment

FT 1000MP HF transceiver
FT 747 HF transceiver (29 years since purchased)
20M / 40m trapped halve wave dipole antenna
15M dipole antenna
20M fixed resonance magnetic loop (to be a 40M/ 20M soon)
HF vertical broad band antenna. 10 - 80M without tuner, (bit noisy)

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
