Biography
Back into amateur radio after a break of nearly 20 years. A lot has changed! I am being reminded of the biggest limitation which is how to hide aerials on a residential estate so mainly limited to wires for HF and vertical dipoles for VHF/UHF on the outside with odds and sods hiding in the roof space.
Electro / mechanical / software background and previously worked for Marconi, IBM and Lockheed before retiring.
Handy skills for making things at home, attempting repairs and experimenting.
I've had many boats over my lifetime and still love being on the water. /MM on a SUP maybe?
My full licence call coincided with me having a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) which was called "Shortwave" (the boat came first)
