Hello

I was first licenced in 1990 at the age of 17, after spending three years on CB radio. Bob Wake, G7BXS, introduced me to amateur radio by entertaining me for many hours with his 6 meter DX chasing. Thank you Bob.

My first callsign was G0NTM, and later GW0NTM when I moved to Wales.

In November 2025, I adopted the new callsigns GW5KDX (at home in Wales), GW5KDX/M (mobile in Wales) and G0KDX/M (mobile in England). The main reason for changing my callsign was to reduce missed QSO confirmations, because people struggle to hear and log 'NTM' correctly.
