Biography

Started in Amateur Radio in early 1986 after completing all exams and CW test. This was after many years on CB radio (old AM days and SSB).
Was very active till 2001 on all bands,DX chasing and 'rag chewing'.
Set up and ran a Scout Radio Group in Milton Keynes in 1992 at the local campsite for the local Scouts in MK and surrounding area. This was very successful, due to the very good antenna's we had, we ran the UK Scout Net every Saturday morning on 80m for many years. (with callsigns G0SMK & GB0MKS)and we also ran many Special Event stations for the Scout Association and also at the nearby Bletchley Park (callsign GB4BPX) for station X with a special award offered in June 1992.

But alas with work commitments and family this all stopped in 2003, and then grandchildren came along - Tempus Fugit

I have had to wait till 2015, at a new QTH and now retired (Aug 2015)from my job in Telecommunications, I have finally got time to get back into radio again (for a few hours a week!!! at least)

Other hobbies -
Photography (mainly wildlife)
Travelling (we've so many holiday's of a life time, we lost count)
Rugby (Bedford Blues,England, British & Irish Lions (next tour = All Blacks in ZL June 2017)
and now 7yr old grandson plays with Buckingham)
Motorcyling (just touring around, mainly in Wales)
Real Ale.......
