I inherited the interest in radio from watching my father repair neighbours radios on the kitchen table back in 1950's. He started in radio engineering in the 1930's and then continued in the RAF during the WW2 years, after the war he returned to the Radio & TV service industry until his death in the 1960's.
I Had various old radios as a lad and was keen short wave listener from early teens.
Worked in domestic Radio/TV industry until 1970 and then moved into medical electronics.Joined German company in 1970 (Siemens) and worked on Xray imaging equipment until retirement in March 2002.
College and work occupied too much time and I didn't obtain an my first licence until the early 1980's (G6PRF), followed by the "A" license in 1984.
