Biography

Born in 1966, I discovered radio with CB and shortwave in the 80s.

Amateur radio since 1993, I owe a lot to Joël (F5NQM) and I have fond memories of those first years in contact with friends of the F6KWP radioclub(ARAS 54). I was then living near Verdun (55).

Later, my job took me to Germany where I was lucky to be able to use the DA1HA callsign from 1994 to 2000 and I had the sadness to close the story of REF FFA by activating DA2REF for its last transmissions.

The 2000s and a move to Paris were synonymous with dead calm when it came to radio, only listening to short waves reminded me that I was an amateur.

Later, I bought my boat, a British narrowboat and I was able to install a small HF station onboard.

But, onboard, it's complicated to put antennas for the low bands ... When I was moored at Boissettes (77), I was able to stretch wire antennas on the river bank and transmit a little. Moored for a few years in Cergy (95), I was unable to put my wire antennas on the banks of the harbour, so I tried different systems including the magnetic loop without much success.

Now, in L'Isle-Adam (95),  I adapted a vertical on the roof of the boat, a fishing rod with a wire antenna. I put also a 40m long wire on the river bank, as a slopper, it's far too low but it's hard to do better.

Very recently, after several decades of SSB, RTTY and other PSK, I started using CW. And in this context, I owe a lot to the admin and participants of the Slow Morse Club. Thank you for your help in this new activity. Without you, the start-up would have been much longer and more laborious :)
