Biography

Now retired to France (2020) but originally from Britain and licenced in 1971 (G8ELW) and enjoyed some great times with radio in my teens but took rather a long break (~35 years) and have been gradually getting back into it over the last few years.
Have just started transmiting again this year (2020) using digimodes (MGM) and ssb.....see qrzcom for pictures.
I am a keen homebrewer, though as has recently been pointed out to me, life is too short to try to build everything in one go.

Equipment

HF Bands : Yaesu FT991A & FT101ZD. Heatkit HM102 SWR/Power meter. Homebrew manual tuned Magloop in the attic. Homebrew self contained SDR receiver for HF and pan display for transceivers.

2m : FT991A. Home brew 5 Element Loop Yagi.

6m : Dedicated to 6m magloop.

70cms : FT991A with homebrew preamp. Antenna home brew Helix - manually turned, unfortunately somewhat screened in all directions by the city centre buildings and a hiil at present, also much QRM.

All aerials and equipment inside in the attic.
