Biography

Dear friends,

First of all, welcome to my page.
In a few words, let me introduce myself, my station, and what I’m looking for. My name is Christophe, but you can call me Chris during our radio exchanges. I'm married to Élise and have two children (Mathilde and Maxence). I was born in 1982 and obtained my amateur radio license on October 8, 2016 — to be exact.

It all started when I was 12 years old, at my aunt’s house. She had a small device sitting on the corner of a table that people called a "Citizen Band". At that young age, I found it simply magical — being able to talk to people over the air, wirelessly, with no internet connection, just a microphone and an antenna.

I quickly got into the 11-meter band at the age of 14, and since then, I’ve never stopped doing radio. I had several different callsigns on 11m: 14DT138 / 14MU168 / 14SD136. After 22 years of transmitting on that band, I finally decided to get licensed.
I’m active almost every day. As you probably know yourself, radio is a bit like a drug — once you start, it’s hard to stop.

I live in a quiet little village of 1,000 people, surrounded by vineyards and just a few hundred meters from the "Rhône" River. If you're a French department hunter, mine is 07 – Ardèche. There are very few active operators in my department, and I’d be happy to confirm the zone for you if needed.
It’s also worth noting that I’m lucky to be located right in the heart of a Flora Fauna zone: FFF-3412 – CORNICHE DU RHÔNE AND RHODANIAN VALLEYS FROM TOURNON TO VALENCE. As a permanent resident of this area, if you contact me, you’ll automatically be credited with this reference. I upload my log almost every 3 months to the official Flora Fauna website.

I’m a DXCC hunter — but not only that. I also love collecting all kinds of awards, especially those that involve collecting provinces, regions, departments, and so on. Feel free to check out my "wanted list" further down this page, and refer to your flag to see what I’m looking for.
If you interested my QSL card send via : Bureau / Direct / eQSL.cc / Qrz.com you will receive QSL in 100%. It's not necessary to send green stamps or Irc's, Dx'ing it's also my hobby and so it's free for anybody QSL'ing me.

Oh, one last thing — please be patient during my CW transmissions. I'm trying to improve in this mode, but I'm still pretty bad at it.
