Biography

My first name is arnaud.

I live in the east of France, near Strasbourg, also know as the Europe capital.

I have been licensed recently, but my interest in ham radio goes back a long way. I have no background in electronics , just a pure fascination with radio communication and chasing DX. I have begin in adolescence, like many people with Citizen Band in 80 years, at the apogee of this band. I’m doing SSB and contacting a good part of the world on 11Meters band with a few watts.

Because of life and QTH location (I lived in a apartment compound, placing antennas is rather difficult), I stop this hobbies and I spent 12 years as a short wave listener. With my recently implantation in a small house with a garden, I decided to reconnect with the radio and decided to pass my RA exam.

My former SWL call sign was F1006SWL (Short Wave Amateur Radio Listening (SWARL) & eQSL certificated), so it’s possible that you receive some SWL report from me. If it’s the case, I’m very happy to made QSO now this your station. Also, if you are SWL, listening reports are welcome.

STATION SET UP : My current working conditions are very basic. The transceiver is a Kenwood TS570D and the antenna a multiband dipole, manufactured in UK named DUAL BEAM PRO (40m to 10m) mounted in 12m pneumatic mast from UK army. Also for listening several bands, I use a Yaesu VR5000 with a long wire antenna.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Kenwood TS-570D.
Antenna Dual Beam Pro rotary multibands dipole.
Scam 12 pneumatic mast.
