Contest station EX9A is located in a picturesque mountainous area near Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. It was founded by a group of enthusiastic radio amateurs in the mid-90s. The station is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and directional antennas, allowing worldwide communications. EX9A regularly participates in international amateur radio competitions, taking high places. The station operators pay special attention to operating on different HF bands. Due to its unique location, EX9A is often a target for amateur radio operators wishing to make communications with a rare DXCC.
