Biography

Hi, thanks for looking me up.

I was tutored by the late GW4YKL ,Clive Trotman at Highfields ARC in Cardiff and was first licensed as MW1EPA, the following year I upgraded to MW5EPA after passing the CW test at Blackwood ARC. I was very active under this call until 2004, especially in contests. I emigrated in 2004 & was issued with the call EI5JP but let this call lapse due to 6 years of inactivity. I set up again in May 2013 and received my current callsign.

I am an embedded software engineer & music producer/sound designer outside this hobby. I'm interested in most genres of music although have been writing and producing dance music for a number of years. Also filmscore, ambient and middle eastern music

When I get chance I do a lot of Hiking. I also love swimming and scubadiving. I brew my own wine & beer and cider and also enjoy cooking especially foreign cuisine.

My Amateur radio Station is located in rural area of county Galway on a small hill with views of the countryside all around. There are no neighbours as such.

I'm Active CW and SSB all bands 160m-70cms

Antennas Vary. I love trying out new antennas and experimenting with them. I have several wire dipoles for 10/12/15/20/40/80m. I have vertical wires & inverted L for lower bands.

Plans in 2013 are to install the Spiderbeams I have and improve low band performance with phased arrays.

I am also intending to operate more CW :-)

If you hear me please give me a call
