Shortwave listener for over 30 years. Also active FM and DAB-DXer. Moved from the Netherlands to Spain in 2019. Retired due to severe PTSD, Police officer with 20 years of experience. Find my peace in my hobby and our extremely quiet environment outside the village of Almodovar del Rio. Love my wife and our four dogs and three cats. Our house is situated on the side of a hill in an olive grove, and there is almost no qrm.

I like hunting beacons in the 10 meter band and lots of other digital modes in other parts of the hf bands.

Equipment

Receivers: Icom R8600 main receiver, and an Airspy R2 and an Airspy Discovery.

Antennas: Two Wellbrook loops connected to a DXengineering Model NCC 2. A two band yagi for the 50 and 70 Mhz. A five element DAB+ antenna. A 9 element Korner fm yagi. All on a rotator. A 30 meter dipole wire antenna with a self-built hybrid 4:1 balun.
