Biography

Began in the world of the radio in 1968, carrying out transmissions with a walky-talky in AM. Already in the year 1977 practiced CW and SSB during my military service, being instructor of the new cadets.

Already in 1988 I worked with transceivers of Citizen Band again in AM-FM and demodulating the SSB with tuners home made in commercial radio receivers.

In 1990 I got my diploma of novice operator (class C), and taking out my first license as EC1DAO, operating with a transceiver UNIDEN 2830 for the band of 10 meters. One year later, in 1991 I took out my award class A with the callsign EA1FAC and I acquired a transceiver Kenwood TS-140S. Later on in 1994 I obtained the callsign EA1YB.

My new callsign since of 20 January 2020 is EA1Y

My preferred work ways are the SSB, but also work RTTY, PSK31, SSTV and other digital ways. My specialty is the DX although work other awards, IOTA, WAE, WAS, WAZ, WPX. and Spanish awards.

I work contests from 1990, using the call ancient besides the own(proper) one, you fell like EA1FAC, AM1FAC, AN1YB and from the year 2007 I use AO1B, AO1Y and EE1Y - EE1B since 2011. Only SSB mode in the following contests:

On the occasion of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the IARU, I used the callsign AO195Y from 15 April until 30 2020, the modes worked will be FT4 and FT8. Important: QSL cards only through eQSL and bureau.

All contacts in digital modes, with power between 30 and 40 watts. Also in QRP (5Watts).

This year 2024, I conclude my participation in the international contest, with the special callsigns EE1Y and EE1B. Eventually I will participate in some of them, but with my callsign EA1Y. Thanks to all of you who have contacted me during these 17 years.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Spanish Amateur Radio Union (URE), I will use the callsign AO175Y from 1 May to 31 2024. The modes used will be FT4 and FT8.
