Biography

Hi and welcome to my QRZCQ page!

My callsign is DN9MTK and I’m based in Germany, locator JO40FD (Taunus mountains area). Most of the time I’m on the air from my home station, but I also enjoy taking radio along whenever it fits.

I started getting into the 11-meter band back in the 1990s, thanks to my father who supported the hobby from the very beginning. Later on I served in the German armed forces in a communications unit as a VHF radio teletype operator — lots of discipline, plenty of RF, and a deep appreciation for solid procedures.

I enjoy making relaxed QSOs, exploring propagation, and learning something new every time I switch on the rig. If you hear me on the bands, feel free to call — I’m always up for a friendly contact.

73 from the heart of Europe,
DN9MTK (Sven)
