Biography

Greetings from Alzenau city, Germany (JO40MC).

Licenced in 2018 as DO2RH,
upgraded in 2019 to DL8RH
German Amateur Radio Club - DARC - DOK F38, OV Seligenstadt, Germany (JO40LB)

73, Raban, DL8RH

History:

It started long before . . .

When I started this hobby in 2017, I have joined the group of Amateur Radio operators in Seligenstadt, Germany and became a member of the German Amateur Radio Club, DARC.

In summer 2018 I took the first exam for the CEPT Novice license and received my first callsign DO2RH.
One year later I upgraded to the full CEPT License (covered by T/R 61-01) with the callsign DL8RH.

Since then, my amateur radio station has been slowly being built up and expanded.
In mid-2019 I started a CW course given by DL9FCQ and I am currently trying to improve my listening comprehension and speed.

Even if I only really started this hobby in 2017, my interest in it goes back a very long time.

I owe the awakening of this interest to a teacher at the school of the Franciscan monastery in Großkrotzenburg, Germany, which I visited when I was eleven years old. This Amateur Radio operator inspired me and other pupils with his hobby:
He was the Franciscan Father "Pater Heinrich" DK3ZB (Alois Biedermann), using a huge cubical quad antenna on the monastery roof.
Even though Father Heinrich passed away in 2006, my greatfull thanks go to him. Without him I would probably not have gotten to this hobby.
