Biography

Hallo dear OM's! I am an old "Berlin original" Edition 1959.

Since my 14th year I am interested in amateur radio and got my SWL license in March 1987. After the exam I received my CEPT Class 1 license on Nov. 27, 1991.
For over 40 years I was driving on the streets of Europe as a truck driver. I changed my job in 2020 and now have more time for amateur radio.

From my home location in Hoppegarten near Berlin (famous for its horse racecourse) i am QRV with my home brew CobWeb-Antenna according to G3TXQ. For better signals at 30, 40 and 60 m, I built a QRO trap dipole in February 2021. A shortened dipole for 80m according to HB9LCD followed in March, all Antennas powered by a Icom IC-7600 on the HF bands from 6m to 80m. If necessary, I can add a ZZ-750 PA from UY5ZZ with 800W out. My HEIL ProSet HC-6 ensures good sound in my ears and in the microphone.
With my Yaesu FT-847 I work on VHF/UHF frequencies and QO-100. If time permits, I work with my Kenwood TM-V71E mobile out of my car.

For portable actions i use a hand-held radio GD-88 from Radioddity and on HF the Xiegu G90 SDR transceiver on a JPC-7 rotary dipole.

A request to German radio amateurs who are still DARC members:
Please enter your DOK in the line provided for this purpose at qrz.com. This would be a great help in the hunt for missing DOKs for certain awards.
To do this, go to the menu item "Edit" and select "Edit Callsign" and then select the first item "Update the basic calldata". In the second input line you can enter your DOK, which will then be displayed directly above your name.
Thank you for your support!

FT8 operators - please finish each QSO with a "73" so that it is valid in my logbook.

I prefer QSL via LoTW. Any QSO partner who wishes, will receive a paper QSL free of charge. Usually through the country bureau or if he is not a member of the radio club also by post. Please send me a short email about this or use OQRS.

I hope, you have a small picture of me now and we will have a couple of nice QSO in the near future from my Location in JO62tm. More about me you can find on my Webside www.dl7ust.de. My DARC local chapter is D26. And please sign the Web-Log on the web tab above!
