Biography
Welcome and thanks for looking me up. My name is Michael. I have been licensed in Germany since 2023 holding an A class license. I also hold a US Technician class license since 1997.
My main interest in Ham Radio lies in DXing and moderate Contesting. I operate in SSB and Digital modes while slowly learning CW.
In my home QTH, I mostly operate the Essen-Bredeney clubstation's FlexRadio 6700 remotely. On the high bands, the antenna is an Optibeam 9-5 for 20-10m or a Hy-Gain AV-640. For the low bands we use a dipole antenna. Our PA is an Expert 1.3k.
While portable and outdoor, I use my Yaesu FTdx10 and either a vertical end-fed or a JPC-7 dipole antenna.
Next to amateur radio, I am mountain biking, sailing my "O-Jolle" and continue practicing guitar.
QSL information: LOTW, e-QSL Bureau and Direct are valid modes. Genuine reports from short wave listeners (SWLs) are welcome as well - please include the opposite station's call in your report. My logs are periodically uploaded to LOTW, e-QSL, Clublog, HamQTH, and HRDLog.
73,
Michael
