Biography

Born in 1947, i got (aged 11) in first real contact with the plate voltage of a radio.
VERY impressive !
Consequently this led me to my first radio receiver (a crystal-set) followed by a transistor (OC604a) audio amplifier powered from a 3V battery.

Next step later was a 0V2 for 80 to 10m with the famous 6AK5. The following career as an SWL and more than 30 years in electronics development (mainly professional and military data transmission VF to SHDSL) led to retirement in end 2012.

Suddenly i had plenty of time and i looked for a nice hobby: it should be Ham Radio !!!
Licensed since end of 2014 i started working with my station since January 15th ...

Since end of April I started with my first steps in PSK31 and RTTY (on 2 or 4 wires i should have had some knowledge in this .....HI) the more sophisticated modes will follow later ....

Equipment

RX AOR 7030 (with SW Ergo4) with 6m vertical and SONY AN1 active antenna
...and from good old days Grundig Satellit 700

HAM HF: Yaesu FT-450D 100W (40W for Digimodes) with Mic MD-100 and vertical GPM-1500 on 40 to 10m (using the internal ATU of the FT-450D)

HAM VHF (2m): Yaesu FT-2900 (10...25W) with Diamond X-30 (since 15.12.2015)
