Biography

Hello there, and thank you for visiting my profile!
My QTH is Esslingen (Locator JN48ps) and my DARC DOK is P02.

Love home-brewing:
- built the BITX20 from scratch from Ashhar Farhan years ago, https://web.archive.org/web/20170415085637/http://www.phonestack.com/farhan/bitx.html
- built some 20m SSB TRX from scratch. Design from Peter Baier (Rachow) DK7IH -> https://dk7ih.de/

Setup: I mostly use simple self-made wire antennas on HF, from the terrace. Main rig: Yaesu FT-847

- Contesting is fun. I'm with the guys of DJ0A in CQ WPX and CQ WW contests.
- Running my own DX-Cluster node: WebCluster: http://dxcc.de or telnet into: dxcc.de (Port 4000) for your logging program.
- My ex-callsign until 09-19-2008 was: DO1SPK
- You'll also find me on Echolink as well as on APRS (terrestrial and via ARISS) from time to time.

Other hobbies:
- I'm a real postcard addict! Please see my project at http://freeshell.de
I started collecting in 2002, counting now 3000 of them, from all over the world.
I'm running this free service, so if you need some webspace, Linux Shell, MySQL DB, hosted by a fellow ham - have a look!
Celebrating 20th anniversary with my project this year.

- Since 1998 I'm into lockpicking too: https://blog.ssdev.org/ - Being a long time member of german SSDeV.

- In my professional life I run an IT services and MSP business: www.mars-solutions.de + www.mars-services.de

- Since 10/2021 QRV via QO-100 as well.

My setup for that is:
- Adalm Pluto SDR
- 60cm offset dish on balcony
- Leo Bodnar GPSDO, for Pluto and LNB external clocking
- "CN0417" as 1st-stage amp after Pluto
- main PA is "sg-lab.com V3" for 2.4-GHz
- feed is by Bamatech (DJ7GP design)
- Software: SDR Console (Windows)
