Biography

I live in a small town called Deiningen in the south of Germany in the middle of a large crater. About 15 million years ago, a meteorite hit our area, resulting in a 24-km-wide crater.

I have been an amateur radio operator for more than 50 years. I enjoy using digital modes such as FT8, VarAC, VARA HF, FreeDV and DMR.

Equipment

For HF, I use a Yaesu FTdx10 with 100W together with a 40m HyEndFed multiband antenna to cover 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, and 6 meters, mounted 11 meters high.

For VHF/UHF, I use an AnyTone AT-D578UVII PLUS (50W), a Diamond X510N vertical antenna at an elevation of around 10 meters.

My portable equipment for VHF/UHF are: AnyTone AT-D878UVII PLUS (5W), Baofeng UV-5R Mini (5W) and a Baofeng DM-1701 (5W).
