Biography
Hi, dear visitor !
Since I was a young boy, abt. 8 years old, I started constructing radio receivers and I earned my first money by repairing old radios , later also tv sets in my neighborhood.
During my time in the army I passed in 1974 the examination to become a licensed radio amateur, DC4DD.
Four years later I upgraded for class A -The result was DF9DU.
I am pharmacist but I never stopped learning all about electronics, amateur-radio, building receivers and transceivers and ,of course computers. MAC and PC became very important for my life and the amateur-radio-hobby.
Now, I like the digital modes like rtty and psk e.a. very much. Especially I prefer WSPR and JT65 . My computers are “homemade”,exceptMAC and there is a lot of freeware software for the digital modes. The WSPR mode is very interesting for studying the propagation of the weak signals.
In the meanwhile I am retired. So there is more time for restoring old tube-radios.
My preferred amateur-radio activities are the digital modes from 1,8 - 50 MHz and also qrp in cw, but I still have to improve my cw skills.
Thanks for your visit - all the best and I hope to meet you on the bands one day!!
