Biography

My career as radioamateur began 1960 with my membership in the DARC (Deutscher Amateur Radio Club). 2 years later I passed the examen as SWL. I got the mark DE 14413 (Deutscher Empfaenger). After school I studied electrical engineering in Darmstadt. I left the university with the academic graduate "Dipl. Ing."

In 1979 I achieved the examen as Radioamateur. The allocated call-sign is DF9CA. During my stays in other countries I got the following call signs: F0GBF, 8P9HX and YB0ARE. In Jakarta I lived from 1982 to 1987.

Today I live with my lovely wife in an over 100 years old, restored farmhouse outside the center of Paderborn. On the roof there are several antennas for VHF, UHF and EHF. KW dipoles are hanged up in the garden behind the house.
