Biography
Hello, my name is João Pinto, I have been a radio amateur since 2003, operating from Abrantes, Portugal.
I am a strong electronics enthusiast, with particular interest in voice communications, digital modes, APRS, DMR, ATV (Amateur Television) and SDR (Software Defined Radio) technologies. I mainly enjoy the 80 meters and 40 meters bands, as well as VHF, UHF and SHF, including 1.2 GHz and 10 GHz.
I have a strong interest in the experimentation and use of SDR software, applied to signal reception and analysis, tracking systems and integration with other digital platforms.
One of my main passions within amateur radio is the homebrewing of equipment, especially:
APRS systems
Repeaters
Meteorological balloon tracking (HAB)
Power supplies
SDR-based projects
ATV (Amateur Television) equipment for 1.2 GHz and 10 GHz
I am also an enthusiast of meteorological balloon hunting and recovery, an activity that combines radio, electronics and field experimentation.
As an additional hobby, I practice off-road driving, often associated with mobile radio operations and outdoor activities.
