Biography

I was born in the city of Ponce, in the southern coast of the Island of Puerto Rico. I attended high school at Antilles Military Academy in Trujillo Alto, PR. and Inter-American University in San German, P.R. After completing a 4-year enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard I attended the Puerto Rico Institute of Technology where I obtained an Associates Degree in Electronics.

I was last employed by Dave's Communications as Communications Network Technician working on Smart Zone trunking systems and VOIP.

My present interest in ham radio is the on the air operating (99% CW), repair and restoration of tube type radios (Boatanchors) and QRP operating. During the day you can find me on 2 meter FM on the Port St. :Lucie Amateur Assn. Club repeater on 146.955 mhz. -.600 (pl 107.2). Our club now has a Yaesu Fusion DR-1 Digital repeater which supports analog FM as well as Yaesu Digital C4FM format. Look us up an QRZ.COM our club call is K4PSL.

Equipment

Main rig is a Yaesu FT-897 and my backup rig is an Icom IC-718. I have several Qrp rigs and vintage equipment by Hallicrafters and Heathkit. I use a pair of eggbeater antennas for satellite work. Also active on our clubs Yaesu Fusion repeater. Visit our clubs website at www.pslara.org
