Biography

My name is WES.

APRIL 2021 - I'M LEARNING CW AND BEGINNING TO GET ON THE AIR . IF YOU LOOK ME UP ON QRZ BECAUSE I'M ATTEMPTING A QSO WITH YOU, I THINK I'M COMFORTABLE WITH ABOUT 10-12 WPM NOW. THANKS!

Licensed/Extra since 2004.

Operating on an IC-7300, using an ALS-600 Amp acquired in 2013 from Sam KT4QW. (The amp was new in 1997 and still works great!) I use an N3ZN-SL paddle.

The antenna is a Hy-Gain TH7DX tri-bander, 18 meters above the ground, with 3 elements on 20 and 15 and 4 elements on 10. Also have 2 inverted delta loops = one for 40 only and one for 40/80. Have a top-hat wire vertical for 160. Also have a 6 meter wire antenna.

The tower is a Hy-Gain 52 self-supporting tower. The antenna and tower were both given me by Dino KL0S. Both were erected in 2013. They were new in 1983 and both are in excellent condition.

Using a first-generation Ham-M Rotor given me by Jack W1FDY that he first put into service in 1960! Works great!

I UPLOAD TO Ham QTH, Club Log, Eqsl and LOTW about once a month.
