Biography

Born May 1, 1942; Minden, La. and moved to Springhill, LA in 1950. Attended school at Springhill, and graduted 1962 from Springhill High School. Joined the USAF in 1962, and served 13 months at Wallace Air Station, Phillipines, then was transfered to Barksdale AFB, Lousiana to 2nd Bomb Wing. Served TDY from Barksdale to Guam, Anderson AFB with the B-52 when they were moved to Far East for use in Vietnam War for six months returned to Barksdale. Upon returning to Barksdale, sent TDY to Kadeen AFB, Okinaw and then to Takie AB, Tialand in support of KC135's in refueling of F105 fighters over Vietam.

Returned to Barksdale and was discharged Honorable from the Air Force, May 1966. US Air Force '62-'66 & Viet Nam veteran '65.
Worked summer at International Paper Company, and attended Northwestern University under GI Bill studing Electronic Technology.
Employed International Paper 1967, hired into Electric Shop, Jan. 1969 and Journeyman Electrician Jan, 1972, until Mill was shut down.
Worked Construction for year and half at Ashdown, AR. and Shreveport, LA. Worked out of Local 194, Shreveport in construction of General Motors Plant, and transfered to Arizona Chemical to install Boiler, and stayed on as Instrumentman/Electrican, until Plant closed July 2000.

Married Doris J. Braswell, Sept. 14, 1967 and have two children, Angela Jean, and Sherry Lynn.
Have Four grandchildren, Kassie, Chelsea, Ashley Charles, and Shelby Morgan. Three great grandchildren, Kyndal, Lanie, Shanie. One boy on the way.
Wife is Webster Parish Assessor, with 38 years service, will retire in Dec. 31, 2012.

Occupation of Electrician/Instrumentation Tech. for 34 years for International Paper and IP/Arizona Chemeical,Springhill, Louisiana. Retired year 2000 from International Paper/Arizona Chemical.
