Biography

I earned my license in Carrollton Texas in January of 2012. In 2017 I moved to El Reno Oklahoma where I've made thousands of contacts, all using my Yaesu FT-857D. I have used several antennas, most recently a random wire antenna and various MFJ HF Sticks with an MFJ-926B remote autotuner. I have also used a Yaesu ATAS-120A very successfully as a base station antenna.

My primary interests are emergency communications and DXing. I’ve been working a lot of digital modes, I’ve made many contacts using PSK-31, FT8, Olivia and RTTY. I recently discovered JS8Call by KN4CRD http://js8call.com/ it lets you do rag chewing using the FT8 mode. My very first JS8 QSO was Oklahoma to New Zealand. It is definitely worth checking out.
