Biography
Originally from Ohio after living there for 52 years and moved to Houston in 2003 to work at NASA on the International Space Station. I left there in 2006 due to the impending cuts in the JSC workforce and am now working for a metal forging company in Houston, Forgital.
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering major) in 1997.
I am working phone on HF (10-80 m) until I can get enough speed on CW to make it worth everyone's while. You can catch me most of the time on 17 meters and, I always enjoy a good ragchew.
I received my first call sign, KF5GQB, in May and then applied for a new call sign when I received my Extra ticket on July 1, 2010.
We have two grown children that have the same interest in ham radio that I had at their age.
On February 14, 2013, my family and I lost both a life Elmer and a ham Elmer,W8HFJ. Dad, we all miss you. 73 & 88 to you , Dad, in your new ham shack.
