Biography

Hello,

Been a ham since late 1970s. Love building, and experimenting with sdr ,homebrew transceivers, antennas and rtl-sdr thumbdrive receivers.

Primary antenna is 84 ft longwire up 15 ft by paintpole.I also have dipoles for each band i run . They ae cut to resonance for the band sections i operate in. Started out as a novice and worked my way up thru General ,advanced and extra. Been running low power since my start.Worked in the field of radio locating and enforcement in the early 80s

100% qsl. via direct or Eqsl

Love building antennas and rig accessories.
Love qrp
love digital
Love using scanners to pick up the noaa weather satellite images.
running ft8,cw

Been Qrp since first licensed in late 70s. I dont go over 5 watts on transmit. Check my countries worked. ALL QRP 3 to 4 watts
Most of my CW contacts have been in the 1 to 2 1/2 watt range. just recently started paper chasing.
own the 1000 mile per watt award operating CW. this was at 1/2 watt going into a resonance antenna.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

using a qrpguys afp-fsk digital transceiver on ft8 max output 5 watts, but i use it on 1 1/2 watts .you can vary the output by varying the distance of the windings on the troids on the band boards

CW,ft8,psk31,SSTV.
A&A Engineering CW rigs for qrp CW
flex 1500 for 6 meters

Homemade cw sideswiper. used to use this type of key in the Military.

4 ubitx version 6 used for qrp ssb,cw and for ft8.2 bitx40s, And several homebrewed transceivers powered by a homebuilt dedicated 12vdc power source using commercial battery cells and charger. And a solar array feeding everything else not listed.

Dipole up 15 ft cut for 80 meters but loads up on 40,30,20,18,15,10 with my emtech z match tuner.Putting out less wattage than my light on my garage

dipole for 40 meters

diploe for 30 meters

dipole for 160 meters

dipole in attic for 6 meters

dipole in attic for 10 meters.
all dipoles cut for resonance excet for the on up 15 ft.

homemade vertical made from extendable paint pole 24 ft long.No radials fed with rg6u coax

100% qrp, simple antennas. CW,DIGITAL MODES, 6 METERS QRP DIGITAL MODES AND CW.and some radio astronomy experiments, and an active experimenter with the NOAA Sat decoding for weather.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
