Biography

I am a retired U S. Merchant Marine Master Radio Electronics Officer.
Currently I am traveling in the USA in my motorhome and at the moment in Texas. For many years I was WA3LCO and when my wife passed away from cancer I took her call sign as a vanity call in memorial. I enjoy off road with my Jeep, playing ham radio, and I've been playing E&B for many years. I enjoy taking pictures, messing with computers and Linux Mint. I also enjoy fishing and boating although I haven't been doing much of that lately. If you send me a mail qsl card I probably will respond but that's not my preferred method of qsl. I enjoy traveling in the motor home and occasionally boondocking! I taught Morse code in the military years ago and I still enjoy listing, but honestly I'm not active at all on CW. Best of 73s and good DX!

Equipment

My equipment consists of an icom 7300 barefoot, a Tunematic antenna tuner, and a Tarheel screwdriver antenna mounted on the motorhome ladder. I have solar and lithium batteries and the radio is operated on 12 volts from that system. There is a 110 volt charger available when I am connected to 110 volt shore power. I also have a yaesu 2 m and 440 radio and a diamond dual band antenna that I managed to stick somewhere when I'm going to be in one place for a while. I do have a 300 watt amplifier but I don't use it.
