Biography

Born and raised in Frackville, Pennsylvania which is located in the North East quadrant of the State. Right in the center of the Pennsylvania hard coal region is where one can find find my home QTH, a place where coal was once "King". No longer a dominant supplier of anthracite coal, the area still boasts as the world's largest deposit of "hard coal" or Anthracite. Scars can still be seen from past strip and underground mining area wide. Although considered the Saudi Arabia of the world where coal is in abundant, the majority of supply has dwindled considerably since its glory days. I became licensed in 1999 as a novice but quickly went through the ranks and currently hold an Amatuer Extra Class license. Currently retired, I had driven 18 wheelers for many years, many times studying theory and tapping out Morse while running America's highways. I have a simple but somewhat busy station running both a Kenwood TS 120 and an ICOM 706 barefoot at 200 and 100 watts respectively. Antennas consist of a G5RV up 30 feet and a End Fed 40 meter wire up 40 feet. Usually will work 40 and 20 meters but do jump around to where the action may be. Hope to upgrade to a new base radio in the near future. That's about it for now, name is Tony and hope to see you on the air. 73' AA3TJ
