Biography
I have started in radio since 1961 when I started in the Army as a Special Operator way back in 1961.This was purely military and had no affair with ham procedures. Having tranferred to some other activities I dropped out of radio and to make matters more complex I left the Island to work overseas where it was impossible for me to do any work (radio).
In 1992 I was in hospital and met someone who pushed me to start again and from than on I started getting interested but had to wait some more years until I finally got my Licence A in 2005 and has been active ever since.
I am member of MARL, (Malta Amateur Radio Leauge) and MARC (Mellieha Radio Amateur Circle.Wheras Marl is the official Club, Marc is another circle where we meet at weekend and help out at Mellieha Scouts in the Northern Part of Malta thus the Circle because our job is to help out.
I like to go out and do outside transmissions and as long as I'm fit I hope to carry on with the hobby.
Equipment
my equipment is mostly ICOM and the rigs I use is an IC 706 MkIIG and IC 7200.
I have an Cushcraft Ms3 tribander and a separate 40 Mts inverted V plus some other dipoles.I also have an Icom Ah4 Auto Antenna tuner for outside use for longwire and a Z-100Plus for Mobile use.At my age I consider myself lucky to still be active and hope more people start using the hobby too.
