Biography

I first got interested in electronics around 1967 (age 11-12!). This lead on to radio when I was given several working and non working receivers and components from a Silent Key. The working receivers included a BC-348 with a 240v PSU and as yet unidentified HF receiver made by the Federal Radio & Telegraph Corp. (a true boat anchor, this was a 19 inch cube that seemed to weigh about 1/2 ton). These sets gave me coverage for the LF, MF & HF bands.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

I currently work the HF bands with a Kenwood TS-850SAT on 40/20/15/10m or a Softrock Ensemble RXTX (1W) on 40/20m. I use an Icom IC-240 on 2m (10W) or 2m/70cm with either a Baofeng UV-5R (4W) or a Icom IC-3210E (25W Car).

My HF antenna system consists of a wire fan dipole (running E-W) in the loft with a balun at the feed point and a Windom (running N-S) outdoors.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
