Biography
I’m Nick and I was born in 1967 with Cerebral Palsy so I have a slight speech impediment using the radio helps me a great deal; because when I use the radio to communicate with other amateur radio operators I have to speak nice and slow so my words come over clearly.
My Nan got me interested in using a radio in my younger years all by accident. Nan gave me her transistor radio to try to tune the stations in; Nan told me that it would be good exercise for my fingers. I started to find some very interesting station.
When I left, school is when I got interested in the CB Radio and then I found out about Amateur Radio. Many, many years later, I decided to try to see if I could do the course? On the 15th October 2012, I passed my Foundation licence. I am waiting to start my Intermediate licence, I passed my Intermediate licence in 2014. I am going to do in the memory of a well-liked Amateur radio operator Richard Young G7ERL. I am a member of Lowestoft and pye Amateur Radio Club.
