| Biography Will you also participate in the PA6EVA radio event?
On 15-16-17 June 2018.
How it all started
Halfway through 2017, a number of water-sporting amateur radio enthusiasts landed on the island "Eva".
A beautiful and later unique and special island located in the Zoutepoel (Sneekermeer) with an unusual history.
With lots of water surrounding, it is the working environment for HF, no obstacles such as power pylons.
For the radio amateurs a beautiful place and so it did not take long until the thought came: "We have to do something with this".
During the winter of 2017, the plans got more and more concrete forms, agreements were made and, not unimportantly, a special call sign applied for and received.

Over the Island:
How the island of Eve came back to the side of her beloved Adam.
Once upon a time...
At the beginning of the 19th century, Adam and the nearby island of Eva, seemed inseparable and formed one island together.
Due to years of wave of water against the border of the islands, Adam and Eva slowly got separated. In the years that followed, Eva still lovingly protected Adam from the constant wave movements. Unfortunately, she had to pay a price for this: more and more land was crumbling away from her. In the end, Eva almost completely disappeared under water..."
The men of rowing club 'Den Bealch' also saw that Eva was getting smaller and smaller. In an attempt to save her, the men always took a large stone and placed it on the island. The team also placed a sign with the text there: "Red Eva" - save Eva
Via local media, the story of Eva reached The Frisian Lakes project of the province of Fryslân and recreation De Marrekrite. Both the province and the recreation sector saw natural and cultural interests in the return of Eva. The plot that Eva is lying on was then still privately owned. The parties contacted the owner and the plot was purchased.
'Naturally' laying on Eva
During the reconstruction of the island dredging was used from the channel of the Sneekermeer. Moreover, Eva has regained her original form, an octagon. The sheet piles around the island, eight times 15 meters long, are made of durable black concrete. That way many boats can moor at the same time. The return of Eve benefits both nature and recreation.
Historical moment
Before the opening of Eva in 2015, all Eva's from Fryslân were called to attend the opening. Seven Eva's responded to the call. Together with deputy Kielstra they unveiled a specially designed picnic table that tells the story of Eva.
The guys of the rowing team symbolically deposited a number of stones to mark the rescue action. Until recently, the Van Heek family owned the plot that Eva is lying on. They planted an apple tree.
