Biography

Hi All,

My name is Tom. I have been licensed since 2008. I got my license when I was a member of a fire department, for use during emergency situations. Unfortunately for the first ten years I was not very active on the radio bands.

When I renewed my license in 2018 I found a new love for being licensed Amateur Radio operator. I now live in Alabama and have several mobiles, including a IC-7100 and a TYT TH-9800, several handhelds. I am a lot more active on the radio and constantly adding to my station. The picture above is my station. It consist of th IC-7300 that I got for Christmas 2021. The FTM-400-XDR along with my laptop displaying the Ham Radio Deluxe software.

My 2M antennas consist of a TRAM 1480 and a J-Pole. My HF antenna is a OCF multiband. A the present I am building a HWEF multiband.

I have just recently passed my General exam. In October of 2021 my call sign was changed from KJ4CIL to K4TPH. I am studying for the Extra Class license.

I looking forward to learning more and being able to talk and use more bands. QSL info - QRZ, LoTW&EQSL.

Hope you enjoy my page and hope to QSO with you soon.
