Biography

I was born in 1976 in Milan but now I live in the town of Varese (north-western Lombardy at 400 m a.s.l), well known as the "Garden City", while its province is rightly defined as the "Land of Lakes", because of the seven lakes scattered throughtout its territory - www.vareselandoftourism.com

I'm a chartered financial analyst, actually working in the banking sector.

I love travelling for pleasure with my wife Laura and come into contact with other cultures. I have visited more than 70 DXCC entities.

My hobbies are amateur radio, nature and landscape photography, motorsports, skiing, playing tennis and golf.

I got the general amateur radio license in 2005. I'm an ordinary member of the Italian Radioamateur Association A.R.I.

I only transmit on HF bands, almost always SSB and digital modes FT8/FT4, and often in QRP as soon as the propagation allows it. I enjoy DXing, causal contesting but I also love outdoor adventure and I'm interested in Parks on The Air (POTA), Summits on The Air (SOTA) as a hunter or activator IZ2GMR/P - IZ2GMR/1 - HB9/IZ2GMR

I enjoy exchanging QSL cards directly - there's just something cool with getting a card in the mail. I welcome cards from hams and SWLs as well and I will respond to all. I will return QSL in the same mode in which I receive it. You do not need to send a SASE, postage or an IRC.

If you hear me on air do not hesitate to make a call even to just say CIAO!
