Biography
Christchurch Amateur Radio Society is a modest and friendly club in the seaside village of Mudeford (part of Christchurch) in south east Dorset.
The club was formed in 1985 and originally drew it’s members from the adjacent Siemens Plessey communications/electronics factory and research establishment.
The club is open to anyone with an interest in radio, and we have exceptional facilities (accessible 24/7). We also have access to the East Christchurch Sports & Social Club (20m away) – which has a bar and other recreational and social facilities.
QRV all bands/modes and 80m CC and 2m UKAC contests. The Club also holds the callsign G7MUD, mostly used on V/UHF. Picture shows an external view of the Clubhouse and aerials, in the foreground, main BP-80 Versatower mast with HF tribander (Mosley TA-63N, 20-6m), VHF 2m yagi (17 element Tonna) and 2/70 co-linear. Below the beam are parallel dipoles for 40 and 80m. To the right of centre is the ATV mast, carrying 2x bayed 24cm antennas and a second V/UHF co-linear for talkback. To the left of the ATV mast is a pole currently supporting a G5RV
